Many newer generators are coming from the factory with an SCR system installed.  It works great if it is maintained properly, but the problem is that generators do not run often and the low hours creates problems for SCR systems.  We have seen SCR systems clog up within a year of installation.  It is imperative that these systems be maintained because it could affect the reliability of your backup generator.
